'Divest from Israel': Columbia, Harvard say no to student demands

Despite the pressure from protest students and activists, universities across the US remain steadfast in their opposition to divestment. Harvard University, boasting the country's largest endowment at nearly $51 billion, recently said that it "opposes calls for a policy of boycotting Israel and its academic institutions." At Yale, administrators refused to entertain a proposal to divest from weapons manufacturers, and instead, police apprehended more than 40 students who were protesting outside the Schwarzman Center.
