Clock's ticking on Hy-Vee's all-night schedule

Hy-Vee Inc., the Iowa grocery chain with nearly a dozen Twin Cities stores, is putting an end to its 24-hour schedule and shutting the doors of most of its stores at midnight. The Des Moines Register reports on the change for Hy-Vee, which said that most of its stores will now be open from 5 a.m. to midnight. The company will still staff its stores with workers around the clock to run the backrooms and restock shelves, but the stores won't be open for shopping. A spokesperson said no job cuts…
