The number of people celebrating Valentine’s Day is dwindling but the spending on flowers, jewelry and chocolate is rising. Americans are projected to spend over $20 billion on Valentine’s Day this year and the average consumer is expected to spend $162. More than half of the population plans to celebrate the day and as usual, men spend almost twice as much as women. The debate between love and hate for this holiday continues. I usually straddle the fence on this one. I am not one for flowers…
