2024 Lok Sabha polls: AGP-BJP tie-up likely to take shape at Saturday meeting

The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and BJP are set to discuss seat sharing and election strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in a meeting on November 11. While the final decision on seat sharing will be taken at the national level by the BJP, the AGP is pushing for a few "winnable seats" from its ally. In the 2019 elections, AGP lost all three seats it contested, but enjoys more support in minority-inhabited areas than the BJP. AGP president Atul Bora expressed the party's willingness to adjust with the BJP.
