UT administration asked to pay Rs 5 lakh compensation to former Jamaat-e-Islami spokesman

The high court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has instructed the UT administration to provide a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to advocate Ali Mohammad Lone, the former spokesman of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami group, also known as Zahid, for his unlawful detention under the Public Safety Act. Justice Rahul Bharti observed that the detention order passed by the Pulwama district magistrate.
