A West Yorkshire Police officer has been jailed after admitting making unauthorised searches on police computer systems.  

PC Sanya Shahid, 31, an officer based in Leeds District, appeared at Leeds Crown Court today (Wednesday, 27 March) where she was sentenced to nine months imprisonment for three counts of unauthorised access to computer material.  

An investigation was carried out by West Yorkshire Police’s Counter Corruption Unit, under the direction of the Independent Officer for Police Conduct.
