Dolores begins talking with Zoey, who becomes a conduit for confronting her own past. Sarah Crossan’s latest novel, “Hey, Zoey,” uses AI sentience to consider the issue of women’s autonomy from a new angle. Donna Edwards of The Associated Press says the novel begins funny before turning sad and then devastating.
