The Modi govt has given a cold shoulder to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos who is in India at a time its economy is witnessing a slowdown.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has gone so far as to say that Amazon is not doing India any favours by announcing a fresh $1 billion investment in the country.

The snub is surprising as it comes at a time when India's growth is at an 11-year low and this is one of the major investment announcements by a foreign investor in the last several months.
