Columbus volunteers still cleaning up storm debris one year after tornado devastated the area

People in Columbus gathered on the one year anniversary that an EF-3 tornado devastated the area to clean up leftover debris that is still plaguing the community.

Tornado swept through on february 2019.

For nicole clinkscales and the community recovery of lowndes county today's mission is simple sot nicole clinkscales- "today is all about service."

Hundreds of volunteers fighting though the cold weather to continue cleaning up the community on the one year anniversary an ef- 3 tornado ripped through the area.

Surrounded by images of past devastation.

Sot- "everybody knows somebody that was affected by this storm" and motivated by the possibility of new beginnings, volunteers hit the streets to pick up trash and debris in an effort to push the area further along the road of recovery.
