Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ2 Sonikku za Hejjihoggu Tsū?) is a platform video game developed by Sega Technical Institute and published by Sega for the Mega Drive.
It is the second game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series for the aforementioned console.
Introduced the protagonist's friend, Miles "Tails" Prower, controllable by a second player.
In the story, Sonic and Tails must stop the series' antagonist, Dr. Eggman, from stealing the Chaos Emeralds to power his space station, the Death Egg.
